Come along and join us, the weather forecast is gorgeous and sunny, bring a blanket, picnic, bottle of you favourite tipple and spend the afternoon relaxing in the sunshine, in the lovely peaceful environment of Tahamoana Angora Goat Farm in Waipu Cove. And for a handful of new singers, this was their very first Opera North experience, and what an experience it was! We can't say thankyou enough to the production team Justin, Jude, Pene, Josh and Luke for making such a beautiful emotional space for regional choirs to join you on-stage!

Well! What a wonderful event to have been a part of. The World Choir Games wraps tonight with it's huge closing concert, if you have time and inclination, get on down to Auckland and be part of the spectacle. Opera North's Chamber Choir led by Emma Couper competed in the Open Chamber Choir category on Wednesday night in the Auckland Town Hall, and got our results on Friday Night... GOLD! Gold tier means we placed in the top tier of choirs in our category. We are thrilled and inspired!

“Opera North is committed to creating opportunities for Northland singers to perform opera, classical and musical theatre to showcase the talents of individual singers and encourage the growth and development of young aspiring singers.

Opera North also supports and trains its members in vocal technique, stage etiquette and presentation, language tutoring and drama in order to raise the standard of performance for the benefit of local audiences.”
