In July 2024, 35 Opera North Chamber Choir Singers headed, excitedly off to Auckland to compete in our first ever World Choir Games, this time around held in our very own Auckland!

Performing 4 songs for the judges and a sell out crown we had a ball…and the icing on the cake? We were awarded a Gold Diploma…only narrowly missing out on the category win by 1 point.

A truly wonderful experience and even better, we are now invited to perrom in the Championship competition of the next WCG in 2026, where ever in the world that may be :-)
